A canoe and so much more... I have gotta loose some more weight.

Here are some of my quick build RV-8A fuselage assembly pictures.

I decided to go with the forward mount on my battery tray.  But first you need to drill out some of the rivets installed by the factory because they didn't know that you were going to do the standard install of the battery tray.  They assumed that every RV builder will have a 200hp engine and will be wanting to mount the battery in the tail cone.  Go figure...

Making those little arms that hold up the tray is a real treat as well.  I ended up making four before I got two good ones.  Clearly my standards are just to high :-)
You will probably end up grinding even more off of the outboard tray support arm because it will rub against the cowl otherwise.  Better to just wait until your fitting the cowl to know how much to belt sand ( the most indispensable airplane building tool I own ) away.

Time to dimple.  Lots of dimpling for the forward baggage floor.  Thank God for the "C" frame dimpler.

Finished product waiting to be back riveted.

Here are some close up shots of that little spacer that goes behind the landing gear weldments that you have to double flush rivet.  Fun stuff.
